16th - 28th April, Dunne St site

The visual artist Aoife Desmond proposes to create a garden in an abandoned lot on Dunne St in the Five Lamps area. The aim will be to create a flower garden that will bloom in April for the Five Lamps Festival.

The flowers will be picked throughout the month and given to the nearby St Agatha’s church for their altar. Bouquets of flowers can also be given to locals who have participated in the garden.

The artist will make links with local schools, groups and individuals who might be interested in becoming involved in the garden and helping to plant it. After April the garden will be entrusted to their care.
